Pellston Village Downtown Development Authority

The Pellston Downtown Development Authority oversees and manages the business community of Pellston and acts as an extension of the Village Council of Pellston.  The Pellston DDA has been a part of many projects and is currently spearheading some new projects.

The Pellston Beautification Project which was completed in 2012 and included a street-scape along US-31 and improvements to the sidewalks and lighting in downtown Pellston. The Pellston Memorial Project was completed in 2015 and consists of a veteran's memorial commemorating the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and POW/MIA.  Many area residents have donated into the Memorial Fund which accepts donations for a walkway stone honoring a veteran of the donor's choice.

Projects in the works include the Pellston Trailhead Project, which is underway, will designate Pellston as a Trailhead Community for bicyclists visiting and living in the area.  This will highlight all the local amenities available for tourists to utilize while taking advantage of Pellston's location among the Tip of the Mitt Trails Council's biking routes which now encircles the entire northern Michigan region.  Pellston's location among the region makes it a perfect hub for those making use of the trail as they pass through or head to Pellston.

Also underway is the 1st inaugural Pellston MemorialFest which will take place Memorial Day weekend May 26-30, 2016.  The festival will take place downtown in Memorial Park and include a Craft Beer Competition and Rib & Chili Cook Off on Friday, a Taste of the Northwest on Saturday and a Car Show and Wine Tasting on Sunday culminating with a Memorial Day Parade on Monday.  Live music, performing artists, an arts and craft show and kids activities will be happening Friday through Sunday.  For all the info and more visit www.facebook.com/memorialfest and we hope to see you there.
